October 2018 TBR

Hey guys! Welcome to my October TBR. I’m still in the middle of school, with midterms and a bunch of other important things coming up in the next little bit, so I’m not anticipating my reading to go all that well. Still, I want/need to finish at least three books this month, and I am going to do absolutely everything in my power to do so.

This is probably going to be a pretty short post, because while I do need to read three books, and I would like to read more than that, all three of those books are in the same series. Anyway, let’s get into the books.

The Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson

I know that last month, I said I was in a Brandon Sanderson reread kind of mood, and then I didn’t end up finishing a single book by Brandon Sanderson in the whole month, but I did read approximately the first two-thirds of Mistborn, and I know that if I dedicate time to it, I can definitely finish that book soon. Then after that, I want to jump straight into the reread of the next two books. I absolutely need to have my reread of the series done by October 15th, so hopefully I can accomplish that somehow. (Even though both of books are 700+ pages).

I didn’t lie last month about being in a Brandon Sanderson reread mood. I just didn’t have time or the opportunity to read much of anything last month, let alone Brandon Sanderson’s really long fantasy books.

Those three books are the only books that are definitely on my TBR for the month, but I do have some others that I would like to read. I don’t know why I think that’s a good idea since I’m really not going to be any less busy this month than I was last month, and I only managed to read two books last month, but I’m going to try anyway. After all, I will have about two more weeks of the month left after October 15th to read other things, like catch up on all the books that my Goodreads says I’m currently reading even though I’m not actively reading any of them except one.

The books in that category are:

The Girl Who Smiled Beads by Clemantine Wamariya

Eon by Alison Goodman

Arcanum Unbounded by Brandon Sanderson

My hope is that, during the two weeks after my October 15th deadline, I will be able to finish The Girl Who Smiled Beads and Eon, because I’m well over halfway done with both of those and it shouldn’t take me too long. As for Arcanum Unbounded, I do want to try to get at least a little farther into it, but I don’t know how likely that is to happen because I do have two other books that I am going to include on this TBR, and I’m honestly more excited for these two books than I am for basically anything else on this list.

They are:

Seafire by Natalie C. Parker

Two Dark Reigns by Kendare Blake

I bought both of these books yesterday, and I’m super excited to read them, but unfortunately I can’t do that right away. My hope is that I will be able to get to at least one of them during the month, and to another one next month.

Okay, that’s all the books I have on my TBR for this month. As you can probably tell, my reading plans for this month are a lot more tentative than usual. I am not intending to read all of the books that I have included on this list, but I do hope to get through a good amount of them.

And, of course, I am planning on participating in a readathon this month. I don’t know which one yet—I’m sure that, like usual, I will end up picking the one I’m going to participate in the day before it starts, just like I have with every readathon I’ve participated in thus far.

Thanks for reading, you guys; I hope you enjoyed! Let me know down in the comments what you’re planning on reading this month, and I will hopefully see you tomorrow with a regularly scheduled Tuesday post!

-Ariel
