Hey guys, it’s Ariel here with her second post in two days! Whoa, weird, right? If you saw yesterday’s post you know that I am participating in the TBR Jar Readathon this month, starting today and running until September 14th.
The way the TBR Jar Readathon works is you set a goal for how many books you want to read during the week, and then you write down the names of several books on your TBR, maybe all of them or maybe just the ones you’re most excited for, on little pieces of paper. You put those papers into some sort of container. Then you randomly draw a book out of the container and read that book first for the readathon. Once you’ve finished that book, you draw another title and read that, and so on until you have either met your goal or the readathon ends.
The rules of the readathon say that if you want, you can choose to draw out all the titles at the beginning of the readathon, but the other way sounds more fun to me so I’m going to do it that way.
Because of that, though, I don’t have a full TBR to give you guys today. Instead I’m going to be building my TBR over the course of the week, and posting an update here on my blog each time I draw out a new book to read.
My goal will be to read four books, and even though I’m writing this post a couple days ahead of time, I’m going to go ahead and make the jar and pick a book now (literally right now, as I’m writing this), just so this post has a little more substance to it. You should expect at least three more update posts over the course of the week, though, maybe more if I still have time left in the readathon after I meet my goal. Plus, there will still be the regularly scheduled Tuesday and Friday posts. Yes, I might be being a tad overambitious.
Anyway, time for a picture gallery of the TBR Jar Creation process. Are you ready? Go!
Whew! Wasn’t that fun? Now it’s time for the thing you’ve all been waiting for… the draw.
What will it be? Let’s find out.
The first book I will be reading for the TBR Jar Readathon is….
The Way I Used to Be by Amber Smith!
That’s all for today’s post! Sorry if it was a little theatrical, but I had a ton of fun writing this one.
Thanks for reading! I’ll see you next time, either with an update on the readathon or the regularly scheduled Tuesday post.

That’s such a great idea! My THR is overflowing with books and yet I keep choosing books that aren’t on it. Maybe the jar thing would be helpful.
I’m having a lot of fun with it so far. If you want more information about it, you can check out the creator’s blog, DuskAngelReads.
