September 2019 TBR

Hi everyone! Welcome to my September TBR, where I share with you the books I’m planning on reading this month.

I don’t have super high hopes for my reading this month, so I’ve set my goal really low, and hopefully I’ll be able to surpass that.

Back in the summer, I had plans to read a lot more this month, but then school started, and the only reading I’ve done for the past two weeks has been reading I had to do for my classes. As you can probably tell by the fact that this post is coming out almost an entire week after September began, reading isn’t the only hobby of mine that’s fallen by the wayside during these past two weeks.

Anyway, let’s talk about the books I want to read this month. I only have two that I’m officially putting on my TBR, and those are:

  1. The Black Prism by Brent Weeks
  2. The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan

As you probably already know, The Sea of Monsters will be a reread for me, and The Black Prism is a book I bought right before school started that I really want to get to. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to this month, because I really miss reading.

Even though those are the only two books I’m officially putting on my TBR, I do have a few other books I would like to get to if I have time this month.

One of those is actually a whole series: The Raven Cycle Quartet. One of my favorite BookTubers, booksandlala, is hosting a readalong of the Raven Cycle this month, and since I’ve never read that series, I thought this would be a good way to push myself to read it.

Considering week one is almost over and I haven’t even started the first book, I’m not sure I’ll be able to accomplish this goal, but I would still kind of like to.

I’d also like to continue reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I started it last month before school started and didn’t get very far into it, but one of my goals for this year was to complete the Harry Potter series.

And, since we’re already talking about impossible reading goals, if I can, I’d also really like to complete my reread of the Percy Jackson series this month. I only put The Sea of Monsters on my official TBR, but I really feel like bingeing through the whole series. Honestly, I have a feeling this is probably more likely to happen than the Raven Cycle or Order of the Phoenix, but we’ll see how things go.

Like I said earlier, though, as long as I can get through (or at least finish one and start the other) the two books I mentioned earlier, I’ll feel satisfied with my reading this month (though Goodreads might not—let’s not talk about the state of my reading challenge).

Okay! That’s all I had to talk about for this post today! Let me know down below what your reading plans are for September. Have you already read a bunch of books? Are you like me, and you’ve read none so far this month? Let me know!

Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you next time!

-Ariel
