August 2019 TBR!

Hey everyone! Today I’m going to be talking about some of the books I hope to read during the month of August. I say some because I’m going to be participating in the Series Crackdown again, which starts tomorrow, and I’m putting up a separate TBR for the readathon that will be going live tomorrow.

This post is just about the four books I hope to read outside of the readathon. I’m honestly a little nervous about this goal, because I’m moving into my dorm and starting back to school at the end of the month. I don’t know how much reading I’ll be able to get done during those last few weeks, but I’m going to try my best to get through this TBR.

1. These Rebel Waves by Sara Raasch

This book is on the top of my priority list, because I currently have it checked out from the library, meaning that eventually I’m going to have to return it. I don’t know much about this book, but it’s fantasy, and I think it involves pirates, which is all I need to know. Plus, I liked this author’s other series, so I’m interested to see what she does with this one.

2. Circe by Madeline Miller

Everyone was raving about this book last year, and it even one Book of the Month’s book of the year award. I love Greek mythology (mostly thanks to Percy Jackson), so I’m pretty excited about this one. I have the ebook of it on my phone, so this will probably be the book I end up reading while I’m out doing errands or something and I have a few spare moments.

3.Windwitch by Susan Dennard

I read this first book in this series, Truthwitch, last month, and I absolutely fell in love with the series. The world is cool, the characters are cool, and so far, it’s just all great. Because of that, I really want to get started reading the next book before I lose steam on the series (*cough* Thunderhead *cough*). I do have to check this book out from the library, though, so I probably won’t end up reading this book until after I return These Rebel Waves.

4. The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

I’ve read this book before—many times, so many times I don’t even know for sure what the exact count is, but it’s been a while since the last time I read it, and since I saw the Lightning Thief Musical back in May, I’ve been craving a reread of this series, so I think I’m going to try to start that this month.

Maybe I’ll even get to some of the other books in the series. Who knows? For now, though, I’m only hoping to read this one. However, out of the other books I listed here, and the books I’m planning on reading for the readathon, this is probably my lowest priority, so we’ll see if I manage to get to it.

That’s all for my August TBR! Let me know what books you’re planning to read this month! Are any of them the same as me? Have you read any of the books I talked about above? If you did, tell me your thoughts below (with no spoilers, please!).

Thanks for reading, everyone, and I’ll see you tomorrow with my Series Crackdown TBR!
