July 2019 TBR!

It’s time for another TBR post! Last month, I was definitely a bit overly ambitious, and honestly, this month I am too—but in this beginning-of-the-month TBR post, I’m only going to be talking about 3 of the books on my TBR. The other 5 are books I’m hoping to read during the final Biannual Bibliothon later this month, so I’ll be talking about them on my TBR for that.

Let’s get into the books I’m hoping to read for the rest of the month.

Otherworld by Jason Segel and Kirsten Miller

I don’t know much about this book other than that it’s about a virtual reality game that the whole world is obsessed with. This kind of video game story is pretty popular these days, and I’m here for it. I’ve already started reading this book (I’m less than 20 pages in), so hopefully I’ll be able to finish it pretty soon.

Again, but Better by Christine Riccio

I know, I know. This book has been on my TBR for two months in a row now and I still haven’t gotten around to it. I know exactly why, too—because I’m scared. This book was written by one of my favorite booktubers, and although I’m obviously not friends with her and have never even spoken to her, I definitely know her better than I do any other author whose books I’ve read, so it feels weird to be reading and rating one of her books.

I really don’t want to rate it poorly, but this book has gotten pretty mixed reviews, which doesn’t make me feel any better about my chance of liking it. I just need to bite the bullet and read it, so that I can finally stop stressing about it.

Enchantée by Gita Trelease

This is another book that I technically already started reading. I’m also not very far into it, but from what I’ve read so far, I’m liking it. It’s a historical fantasy story set in an alternate version of revolutionary France, where the main character is using la magie ordinaire (ordinary magic) to try to make ends meet. I read the synopsis a long time ago, so I don’t remember what happens after that, but I presume something goes wrong.

I’m excited to finish it.

Okay, that’s all the books I have planned to read during the non-readathon parts of the month. If I could get to more than these 3, that would be awesome, but I’m trying to be realistic with myself and set a more reasonable goal. Plus, these three books are the only books on my TBR that I really feel a pull toward reading right now, so it’s what I chose. We’ll see if I end up reading any others!
