Series Crackdown Reading Recap
Posted On June 4, 2019
Hey everyone! Sunday marked the last day of the Series
Crackdown Readathon, and now it’s time for my final update on how it went.
I didn’t keep very good records of exactly how many pages/days
I read during this readathon, so this post is probably going to be very short
and very general.
I started off the readathon on a good note by starting and
finishing Once We Were by Kat Zhang.
Then I started reading Harry Potter and
the Prisoner of Azkaban. About halfway through that book, I put it down and
started reading the first few chapters of Strange
the Dreamer by Laini Taylor. By the end of the week, I had finished both of
those books, thanks to a bout of frantic reading during the last two days of
the readathon. I ended up finishing Strange
the Dreamer maybe 15 minutes before midnight on Sunday.
Overall, I ended up completing 7 of the 8 challenges for the
readathon by reading 3 books.
Those three books were, as I mentioned earlier, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by
J.K. Rowling, Once We Were by Kat
Zhang, and Strange the Dreamer by
Laini Taylor. I ended up using Prisoner
of Azkaban to count for far too many challeneges, but here’s a little
rundown of all the challenges and what books I read for them.
- First book in a series- Strange the Dreamer
- Sequel- Once
- Last book in a series- not completed
- A long series- Prisoner of Azkaban
- 10+ years old-Prisoner of Azkaban
- Popular series on your TBR- Strange the Dreamer
- Been on your TBR forever- Prisoner of Azkaban
- Film/TV Adaptation- Prisoner of Azkaban
And that’s really about it. I think I did pretty good
overall on this one, though I had originally wanted to read 5 or even 6 books
and I only got to 3. I could have read a lot more if I had just tried a little
Considering part of my goal for this readathon was to catch
up on my Goodreads challenge, I would say I didn’t do a very good job. Although
I read 3 books, I am still 8 books behind on my challenge, whereas at the
beginning of the readathon I was 9 books behind.
So yes, I technically made up a little, but not enough.
You can definitely expect to see some more readathon posts
in the future, since I still have a lot to make up. Hopefully those will go
better than this one did.
Thanks for reading, everyone! I’ll see you next time.
